Some boggy ground & stony uphill tracks on the open fell OS Landranger (1:50,000) 90, Penrith & Keswick OS Explorer (1:25,000) OL7, The English Lakes, South-Eastern area.

As this ride goes over the fells, climbing to over 1000 ft, it is unwise to attempt this route if weather conditions are poor. Low cloud, strong winds or driving rain would make this route not only unpleasant but also potentially hazardous. Mobile phones frequently do not receive a signal in this area. It is advisable to carry weather proof and warm clothing in case of unexpected changes in weather. Please inform someone responsible of your intended route and expected time of return.
