DUTw01 Waypoint 1
Road
From the Leigh Arms go through the bridle gate on the road side by the bridge. Your path goes underneath the bridge. Dismount to go underneath, there are mounting blocks at either side.
DUTw02 Waypoint 2
Bridleway
Take the road along the riverbank of the Weaver Navigation and cross the bridge to the lock gates.
DUTw03 Waypoint 3
Bridleway
Continue past the lock gates and over a wooden bridge. At the end of this bridge you will see bridleway signs straight ahead and to the right. Turn right and go straight ahead along the foot of the wooded hillside.
DUTw04 Waypoint 4
Bridleway
Turn sharp left through a bridle gate off the track and go straight ahead with a fishing lake on your left. Pass under the railway viaduct.
DUTw05 Waypoint 5
Bridleway
Turn sharp left with the river on your right, and go under the viaduct again to retrace you steps past the houses and locks.
DUTw06 Waypoint 6
Bridleway
Take the bridleway on the left, which climbs a hill to a bridge over the Trent and Mersey Canal.
DUTw07 Waypoint 7
Bridleway
After crossing the canal turn right on a bridleway keeping to the hedgeline.
DUTw08 Waypoint 8
Bridleway
Pass through a bridle gate and a belt of woodland, then diagonally across a field to recross the canal down to a minor road.
DUTw09 Waypoint 9
Minor Road
Follow the minor road to the A49 and cross straight over to the Leigh Arms car park.
