SIZEw01 Waypoint 1
Road
Follow the road on the west side of the River Kent, turn Right, and then take next Left up Nannypie Lane.
SIZEw02 Waypoint 2
Road
Follow this through the bridge under the A591.
SIZEw03 Waypoint 3
Road
Turn Right up the drive to Sizergh Castle.
SIZEw04 Waypoint 4
Road
At the top of the drive turn right before the cattle grid into the National Trust car park. There is a no-entry sign for vehicles and a smaller gate to the right side - go through this. Go past the estate offices with the National Trust visitors centre on your Left.

Concessionary track
Turn Left immediately after the visitors centre and follow the \'concessionary\' track straight on (this is a popular track for families, runners, walkers and cyclists) through a couple of gates and straight on along a stoney track until you see arrows pointing up the grassy hill.
SIZEw06 Waypoint 6
Bridleway
The bridleway goes up the hill from the far end of the track near the road. There are a couple of short wooden posts with arrows on marking the route as you go up the hill side. There may be sheep and cattle in here. Watch out for walkers too in this field.

Bridleway
At the top of the hill the route goes slightly Right towards another wooden post/arrow before turning Left towards a wooden gate. Go through the gate on to a stony track then take the bridleway signposted of to the Left along a grassy track which gradually goes down to a wooden gate.

Bridleway
Go through a gate onto another track and follow until you come to Brigsteer Road.
SIZEw09 Waypoint 9
Road
Turn Left downhill. Take the next Left and keep Left along Parkend Lane, straight on.
SIZEw10 Waypoint 10
Permissive Bridleway NT
Turn Left through a gate back on to the concessionary track to take you back towards Sizergh Castle. Retrace your route back to your parking place.

Refreshments
You can call at the National Trust visitors centre for refreshments or take a small detour to Low Sizergh Barn (signed off your route after passing through the bridge under the A591.)
