Trefeurig Ride Waypoint 1
Beautiful scenery in the community of Trefeurig can be explored on foot, on horseback and on bicycle through a network of interconnecting paths and country lanes. East form the village of Penrhyncoch, the valley of the Nant Seilo gives way to semi natural pastures, rough moorland and forestry that cover the higher ground of the Cambrian Mountains. The full circuit is 16km, the circular route to the west of Pen Bont Rhydybeddau is 6.5km and to the east the route is 9.5km. These hills and valleys were famous for their silver, lead and copper mines from prehistoric times to just a hundred years ago. The scattered mining villages of Cwmsymlog, Cwmerfyn and Pen Bont Rhydybeddau and the old mine sites are a legacy of this industrial era.
