A lovely route starting near the quarry at Freehay and taking in Dimmingsdale Valley. Often used for pleasure rides, it is mostly off road and the steepest hill is omitted. For a video of the ride, click here: Download: Freehay.gpx
CROw01 Waypoint 1
Bridleway
Tun left on the bridleway, then keep left where the path forks.

Road
Drop down to the road and turn left.
FREw03 Waypoint 3
Road
Follow the road to the right.
FREw04 Waypoint 4
Bridleway
Turn right on the forest track near the top of the hill.
FREw05 Waypoint 5
Bridleway
Continue straight on past the dam.

Ramblers Retreat
Ramblers Retreat and hitching rail. Retrace your route to the dam.

Bridleway
Cross the dam for the return route.

Turn left and keep straight on to the road.

Road
Turn left on the road. to the top of the hill. You will see the track you took earlier. Go past that and retrace you steps to Sandy Lane.

Turn sharp right bridleway just before the one you came down onto Sandy Lane. Keep left at the fork. Photo 5

Go straight across the cul de sac.

Go through the gateway onto a cul de sac road.

At the road junction turn left into another bridleway.

At the roundabout turn left to pass the entrance to the quarry and return to where you parked.
